I'm doing the Hair with Heart challenge and I need your help!
I’ve made the decision to take on the Hair with Heart challenge and change lives!
In November 2021, my aunty got diagnosed with breast cancer. After the long hard road, many treatments of radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgeries, feeling sick for months and loosing all her hair, she is one of the lucky ones. She still has check ups every six months to make sure the cancer hasn’t come back or spread but I still get to grow up having a person with such strength, courage and resilience in my life. She is an inspiration and a survivor.
This was an extremely difficult time for my family and I. During that time I wanted to do something to help my aunty. But I felt helpless. Being only 8 years old, I felt like there wasn’t much I could do. Until I heard about Variety’s- hair with heart’. So I accepted the challenge and have been growing my hair for the last four years. This is my way of helping. My hair will be used to help make wigs for kids going through similar treatments as my aunty and funds raised will help those kids in need.
Variety – The Children’s Charity supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
I will be fundraising to help raise vital funds for Australian kids in need, including kids who are experiencing permanent hair loss from medical conditions such as alopecia and cancer.
Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference.
