I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off (insert how many cms/in you'll be donating - min 35.5cm) on (insert the date of your big chop, or an approximate date or month if you're not sure).

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

I would like to thank you all for supporting me in such a great cause for those less fortunate.  After all we have managed to raise beyond my expectations and it means the world to me.  I look forward to my hair going to a special person that will help them feel special.

To our Dearest friends & family,

 

A few years ago now we embarked on a family holiday to Hawaii with some very dear family members that are very close to our hearts and the holiday was unforgettable, filled with happiness, joy, relaxation and lots of good food and drinking without doubt. During this time I used the time on the holiday to reflect on something that no one should have to face however is the reality of life and that is one of the students at my primary school was fighting cancer.  As we have been away with the families before on several occasions over the years we always try to book a holiday every few years as we live on opposite sides of the globe, although maybe tough at the moment given COVID 19, I made a commitment that I would not get a haircut until the next time we met.  At this point I decided that I would not just grow my hair for the simple fact that it was a pact between the family however I would grow it with the view that I will donate my hair as part of “Hair with Heart”.

 

 

I said “Mum, Dad if I grow my hair really long I want to donate it to someone that has gone through chemo and has lost their hair and make them feel normal”.  Both Mum and Dad were really happy and felt  heart-warming.

 

Fast forward 2 years and 3 months with a head of silky health hair the time has come for Christian’s Big Chop.  The hair is an amazing 40cm and healthy and ready for the donation. The BIG CHOP will be done on the 30th September 2020.

 

I have created a Donation page and set a goal to help those less fortunate than most.

 

I understand that it’s a big ask at any time however if you could click on the link and make any donation that would be fantastic in supporting a great fundraiser.
