Trinity's Hair with Heart challenge

I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I would love to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to support a child who has lost their hair due to a congenital or acquired medical condition such as alopecia, cancer and trichotillomania. Such conditions can often be distressing for a young child, impacting their self-esteem and self-confidence. Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. As such, I have made the decision to chop off my hair in order to alleviate any potential damaging psychological effects that a child may encounter due to circumstances beyond their control. I want to provide the opportunity for a child to build self-confidence, develop a positive self-perception of themselves and work towards enhancing their own self-esteem.

I'll be chopping off approximately 35-40 cm around the the end of April, 2022. My goal is to raise $500 to support a child who may feel powerless and vulnerable due to living with a condition which affects their participation in everyday life. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Any contribution is highly valuable and will make a big difference in the lives of these children.
