MY NAME IS SOPHIEā¦ HEAR ME ROAR!! I'm chopping my hair AGAIN and need your help!
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I'll be chopping off 40cm on SEPTEMBER 2nd at my BIG CHOP event! (More details will follow..watch this space).
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a childās youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Hair with heartās real life Ropanzel
Tuesday 14th Mar Hair with Heartās little real life Ropanzel is not what most people expectā¦. Although Iām biasedā¦. most people would agree sheās even better. Watch out universe, her a name is Sophieā¦hear her ROAR!! This is the little Ā girl the world will definitely not be able to ignore! . Sophie has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is an amazing little girl that helps her community. She donated her hair to varietyās locks of love at age 3 and now she is 5 and getting ready to Donate again. Along with donations, I hope Sophie is able to raise community awareness. Sophie has the support of her current preschool learning blocks Dural, all the families at Cubby College in concord (my cousins childcare who have an amazing group of educators , children and families!) and over 45 family members from my mothers side. Both centres incorporate all abilities in mainstream childcare and preschool. By allowing all students to enrol and giving them the support they need, they have educated able bodied healthy children and families about kindness, acceptance, inclusion and understanding. Unfortunately in our society, that same level of inclusion, opportunities and respect isnāt often given to people with intellectual or physical disabilities. My family have rallied around Sophieās choices to help other kids and have been encouraging her and even Ā made Team Sophie headbands (thanks Micah!) to Ā encourage Sophieās kindness and bring a change in society.ĀSophie has full cognitive awareness, communicates to us non-verbally, full of personality and sass. Many people that meet Sophie may at first dismiss her ability to contribute to society but at age 5 she is donating her hair for the second time. Sophie is excited to help another child, itās her choice to do so, even if her hair is heavy at times. I have alopecia and I tell her all the time how she is my little hero. Everyone in this world is needed and needs someone, we all just need a chance. Share
