I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I'll be chopping off half of my hair on Saturday 9th of May.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
My Updates
For Kath
Monday 4th May Can you remember the date of your last haircut? Mine was the 10th of October 2015, my wedding day. I originally started growing it out as a joke that once married I could let myself go. This soon changed and became quite serious while seeing my nan go through treatment after a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. As my hair was growing, nan's was falling out. Losing her hair was something that upset her and we would joke that we could cut my hair and make her a wig. Right up to the last time we were together, the night before she passed, we spoke of this and right then I made a silent promise that I would continue to grow my hair and donate it to make wigs for those that need them due to medical conditions. Well, after almost 5 years I feel the time has come, but it's not over completely. Saturday, I will be cutting half my hair for donation and keeping half for the memories and to hopefully donate again further down the track. If you can afford to do so, please donate to my Variety donation page. Your donation will help fund the needs of children with medical hair loss. ShareThanks for all the support
