I'm chopping my hair to show anyone can be kind!
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I was watching Nijia Warrior with my mum when I was 6 and saw an 8 year old girl without hair. Mum explained she had a disease that meant her hair didn't grow. I asked mum if I could give her my hair and she said yes!
I thought people with a disease might get their feelings hurt if they looked different or felt different. It's not their fault so I wanted to do something kind to show, people can always choose to be kind to other people, especially if they have a hard time for something that's not their fault.
Now I'm almost 8 and I've been growing my hair for a year and a half. I'll be chopping off 38cm at 4:30pm on Wednesday 24th of June on the lawn at Limestone Coast Pantry, 1/20 Harrald Street, Mount Gambier.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
My Updates

Hooray! I reached my fundraising goal!
Tuesday 9th Jun Thank you everyone for donating money. I'm excited I reached my goal! Please share my posts on facebook (because mum doesn't have it!) so more people can see it and donate money or maybe even their hair too. Thanks, Matilda 😘 Share
