I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 36cm on 29th June 2020.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need.

I did it!!!!!

Thank you Leanne for looking after me this afternoon.

I was very nervous and wondered whether short hair would suit me or not........but I had my eye on the prize and knew Leanne would know what to do.  

Everyone knows how THICK my hair is and all my life it has had a mind of its own.  That's why my hair was so long......it was the only way mum could keep it tamed!  I was worried that once it was cut, I would look like I'd stuck a knife in the toaster.  Leanne is the BEST though and I absolutely LOVE my new hair do.

Thank you for all your kind words, support, encouragement, and wonderful donations.  This has been heaps of fun and I feel very good about donating my hair to Variety.  

I might even do it all over again ......starting right now!

Thanks very much - I couldn't have done this without every single one of you!

4 MORE SLEEPS!

Hi everyone, 

Just 4 more sleeps until I cut off my hair and donate it to Variety's Hair with Heart.

Thank you to everyone who has already generously donated.   I'm very grateful.

There's still time to share my fundraising link with friends.  I'd really appreciate any support you can rally.

A big thank you to Leanne from https://www.sirocco-hairdesign.com.au/ who will be doing the honours on Monday afternoon straight after school.   Leanne will know how to tame my mane when it is no longer being weighed down and is free to stick out in any direction it likes!

Mum is going to take LOTS of photos and we will post them here on the page when we are done!

Thank you everyone.  This is amazing.  I was so shocked that we are actually looking like making the goal we set.  That's incredible.   On the weekend, I'm going to sit down and write a thank you message to each of you.  You have all made me very happy because together we are going to make a difference to a child who really needs a break and support.  

You are all amazing!

Thank you so much for helping me to reach the goal of $1000.00.  How incredible!

 I'm so grateful for the support from friends and family to donate my hair after three long years of trying to reach the target length.  I'm even more grateful for the support in raising much needed funds for Variety Children's Charities.

Something you may not know is that my Dad was meant to be on the NSW Variety Bash right now with three of his mates, on a week long adventure fundraising and creating awareness for Variety and the great work they do.  

Car 71 - The Kings in the Crown, were pretty excited about getting on the road.  The dads have all been helping Tony (their group leader) to restore a Toyota Crown.  The picture attached is what they started with.

COVID-19 unfortunately put a stop to the scheduled Bash this year.  Tony worked so hard on the car so it has been really sad that they couldn't go and Variety is missing out on some much needed fundraising from that fantastic event. 

Variety need our help now more than ever.

They are a charity with a huge heart and it would be dreadful to think that COVID-19 affects them supporting children and families at the toughest times.

I've changed the goal to $3000.00 but I truly hope that we can smash that goal too.  That would be incredible.

I'm so grateful you are all supporting this cause and helping me with my Big Chop!
