I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
MY SPIEL...
Hands up if you’ve ever seen me with something other than long hair... It’s not many of you, hey? And that’s because it’s been long for 30 years!!! Notwithstanding changes in colour, the odd long layer, a bad 80's spiral perm, and a brief and regrettable dalliance with a side fringe; it has been long forever! Well, the time has come, my friends!
During lockdown last year I decided to embrace the next stage of my life and stop hating and battling with my greys (hereafter known as ‘silvers’). Now I have 12 months’ silver, combined with waist length blonde hair. So, I am saying goodbye to the blonde with a dye and substantial CUT (as opposed to 2cm-off-the-ends-trim).
It’s only hair, but this is a big change for me, so to firm my resolve and make my loss someone else’s gain, I am donating my hair and raising money for kids in need.
THEIR SPIEL:
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I'll be chopping off at least 20cm.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping.
