I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

Hi friends! 

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'm six in March, and from the day I was born, I've never had my hair cut. This is my baby hair, and it's now long enough to donate it to kids with cancer or other medical condition as an act of service. 

So, I'll be chopping off 36cm at the end of December.

Wigs cost families up to $6000 lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s life. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for supporting me!

We did it!

Wednesday 23rd Dec
After some hesitation, a bit of a fireside chat with Isaiah, and a mustering of courage from the words you all posted on this page -- we finally cut Isaiah's hair today! 

Thanks for all the support, encouragement and gestures of kindness -- we're glad Isaiah's first significant sacrifice (which at his age is a big deal) is service-oriented, and for kids in need. 

Thanks again -- from all of us!

Saturday 19th Dec
Ballina, NSW. "The Eight Brothers Barbers". A good-feel bunch of blokes who are welcoming, all about family and community, and who are from a country close to our hearts, Tonga. 

Isaiah's godfather is Tongan. His middle name (Owen) is named after a spiritual giant in his parents eyes (Oweni Fifita) from his dad's time living in Tonga, so this all kind of works. 

Excited (but also getting sentimental for losing that hair) and looking forward to the chop. We visited the other day so Isaiah got a feel for the place. Let's hope this pans out to be a wonderful memory for Isaiah as he donates for good.

Isaiah is 6 in March. That's six years of hair that's never been cut. We didn't plan it this way, it just sort of happened. 

As a very bald baby, maybe we were just excited when he grew hair, that we never bothered to cut it! 

About 2 years ago, we started making small, home-made videos about virtues and life lessons with Isaiah. That's when the topic of "service to others" came up, and Isaiah learned that some kids needed wigs and real human hair because they had lost theirs through sickness. 

Isaiah's hair is now long enough to donate, and we'd like to make it happen before 2020 is over. Being a year full of challenges and opportunities to serve, we'd love your support in Isaiah's gift to others in need.
