Evan braves the big chop!
Evan has been growing his hair since he was 7 years old. Growing up in western Sydney he received his unfair share of bullying at school for having long hair. Instead of cutting it to try and fit in, Evan defied the bullies and grew it longer and longer. Evans hair has become a symbol of his strength, determination and courage. Now that he has moved to regional NSW Evan has found his peers and school so accepting that he has decided it’s time to pass his courage on. Evan will cut his hair and donate it to Hair with Heart to make wigs for children who have long term medical conditions. Alongside this he will also be raising money to help kids living with disability, chronic illness and disadvantage. He will be cutting off at least 35cm and raise some much needed funds at the same time.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
