I'm chopping my hair. Help me help others.
Hi my name is Emily Prince and I’m 9 years old.
At the end of 2019 a friend from schools younger sister was
diagnosed with Leukemia. She had to have chemotherapy and lost her hair. 3
months later in February 2020 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery
to remove the cancer, she had to have chemotherapy which made her feel sick and
she also lost all her hair.
I saw an ad on tv for ‘the worlds greatest shave’, although I
didn’t want to shave all my hair off, but after seeing what my friends younger
sister and my mum went through I felt sad and wanted to help people to feel better
about themselves when going through chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.
After speaking to my mum and my mums friend who is a hair
dresser, they said I could grow my hair and donate it to make wigs for kids
with cancer. So, from easter 2020 I told my mum and dad I was going to grow my
hair to help.
I ask everyone to help me raise money towards this very good cause. Making sick people feel a little better about themselves.
My hair length now is 42cm from bottom to my shoulders. i will continue to grow it to 31/03/2023 which will be the day i cut it.
