Hannah is doing it again!
Following on from Jodie and Emilee's big chop 6 months ago, Hannah's slower growing hair is finally ready to be chopped and donated to Hair with Heart!! Exactly 6 months to the day since the other girls did it, Hannah will chop hers this Saturday! We're really late in getting a fundraising campaign going, so we'll leave it open for a while after the cut has happened. This is an amazing cause, so any donation big or small is greatly appreciated.
Our reason for donating hasn't changed...
We decided to do this because of an experience we had with a close family friend. This friend, between the ages of 14 and 16, underwent a series of chemotherapy sessions to combat his leukaemia. While the chemo, and subsequent loss of hair is only a small part of the cancer journey, the kids and us were significantly touched in this instance. We saw our friend go from "normal", to nearly losing life, to coming out a winner on the other side, and it challenged us to do what we can to make a difference for those on this journey.
Hannah has made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating her hair to be made into some wigs for some very special people who has lost their hair due to a medical condition/ treatment.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
Hannah will be chopping off 35.5cm on 19th June 2021.
