I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 14 inch on 1 November, Monday.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Hair donation

So this has been in the works since early this year. We just came out of lockdown after a year and things were getting back to normal. I was thinking of getting a hair cut and then I thought 'why not donate?'.

So I've been saving my hair (and dropping lots at home) in the meantime and I'm getting there. This came up as a friend from my mother's group received a diagnosis of cancer for her then 4yo and it was gut wrenching because Miss L was the same age as the child. The kids have to lose their hair with the chemotherapy and if my hair can be used to make wigs for little ones then why not? So here's my little endeavour to get my hair as long as it can go and hopefully give some child somewhere a little wig to use.
