I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I’ve made the decision to take the big chop and change lives!

Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

I will be donating my hair to help provide a wig to someone who has lost their hair, as well as raising vital funds for kids in need.

Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference.

It's been a while and I realised I did not provide an update here on the site!  So I am copying the post I put on my social media for those who may not have seen it :)

I did it. 😱
The big chop. ✂️
Not gonna lie, I am feeling a real mix of emotions. My hair has never been this short (close but not quite).
I will be colouring it again in the near future as funnily enough my colour is part of my identity. 🫠
But in the mean time I'm trying to focus on the fact I've done this for a good cause and that the sadness I feel has nothing on those people who lose their hair for a medical reason and can't just "let it grow back" 💇‍♀️

Why?

Monday 27th May
If you know me, you know that bright-coloured hair has been my thing for close to a decade.
During pregnancy I decided to NOT bleach my hair but to still have the bright colour put on top...the ends have remained bright but the rest is my natural colour and the regrowth is pretty intense now!
I decided to go for a change now that I'm postpartum and starting to lose a lot of hair anyway and have made the decision to make a difference at the same time by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig*** for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
NOTE: I won't be shaving my head but will still go quite short.
I'm hoping to get it done this week, pending booking an appointment.
*** As my hair has been coloured, as per the FAQ, it will be sent to Sustainable Salons, where it will be used in an alternative form of wig or for environmental research!
