I'm cutting my hair for charity!!

When I was 17, I was prescribed tablets to alter the function of my thyroid. These tablets changed the thickness of my hair and I began to experience hair loss, rapidly. I didn't want to brush my hair because it would mean more would come out. I didn't want to wash my hair because, I would be rubbing the shampoo in and my hair - out.
I stopped my medication out of fright, I didn't tell anyone. The doctors knew because my thyroid function would spike. It isn't until now that I am donating my hair that I understand how LUCKY I was. How lucky, that Hyperthyroidism, in my case was not life-threatening.
Recently, I went through a phase of neglecting my hair, tying it up and not looking after it or flaunting it as it deserves. I was truly ungrateful. My thought process was - There are people who would kill to have my hair - There are people that don't have hair and would love my hair so much more than me right now - and here we are :)
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I'll be chopping off 35.5cm at the end of this month.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
