I'm chopping my hair! If you'd like to help out, every little bit counts.

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 36cm on 29/10/2020. This hair is donated but the families still need to buy the wigs. Sales from these wigs raise money for families but your donations will also help subsidise the cost to the kids who need them. 

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. 

Many normal fundraising activities have not been able to go ahead in 2020, so if you're in the position to help out, every little bit counts!

When I first decided to also try to raise some funds as well as donating my hair, I was super hesitant. I wasn't sure how people would be in the current covid-climate, but when I saw that these orgs are struggling too because they can't do their normal fundraising activities I was convinced to at least give it a go.

So I set a smaller goal of $500 but you guys are amazing and you beat that in only a few hours after I posted; so, I've moved the goal posts. Let's see if we can make it to $1,000. 
If a wig costs $6,000, then $1,000 feels like it's a decent portion of that. 

Also, I've worked out how you can add photos to these posts!!!  :D
