I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

So after growing the curly locks since December 2018 the time has come to take the big chop and In turn I hope make a difference to some top kids lives. I will be donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 35.5cm in May 2022.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Covid causes delay

Thursday 19th May
Well after being all prepped and ready for the big chop COVID decided it would rear its ugly head and cause a disruption so we have had to delay to ensure safety of all. New date scheduled is 18th June so a little bit of time for more growth and possibly a bit more donation. Disappointed is an understatement but we will get there, after 3 years what’s another couple of weeks 🤷‍♂️

The reason I’m doing this

Thursday 20th Jan
In 2018 my nephew Jett was diagnosed with embryonalrhabdomyosarcoma, a form of childhood cancer and it changed everything we all as an extended family held dear….he was a champion and fought it head on with the amazing courage of his mother and father and little sister and has come out the other side but what he went through will never be far from our minds….and after shaving our heads for the little fella I made an agreement with him that I would grow my hair long enough to be able to cut it off and donate so other kids like Jett have access to the wigs in times when they can easily lose themselves because of loss of hair caused by illness and treatment. In partnership with the hair I will also be raising money to provide financial support for others to buy wigs. I ask you all to join me in the last 3 months of this 2.5yr journey and raise all that we can as I prepare myself to cut off the curls and donate to this amazing charity.
