I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

Hi Family and Friends, 

As you know  I have pretty long, dark hair that I love! I have been wanting to donate my hair for a couple of years now and finally with our families big move at the end of the month, I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 35-40cm around the 18th January 2022

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

My “WHY”

I’ve always had long hair. I’ve been know as the girl with the long straight hair for most of my life.  For years (literally saw a memory on Facebook for 7 yrs ago saying I want to donate) I have wanted to donate and just continued growing my hair and looking after it with the hopes that one day I would have the courage to cut and donate it. 

Even though I personally don’t have anyone I know that has lost all their hair due to medical reasons, I do have in laws, extended family and friends who cancer has touched their lives and even taken lives. 

If by cutting off my hair brings a smile and some joy to someone else during a difficult time in their lives. It’s something small I can do. 

I hope to raise money to help a family with getting a wig made for their loved one! 💗
