Sahara is chopping her hair and needs your help!
Sahara has made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating her hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
Sahara has a congenital condition that requires her to take medication 3 times a day- a side effect of this medication is excessive hair growth. Sahara continues to be an outpatient at RCH and while there one day she noticed a little girl with no hair and asked me why that girl has no hair. I explained to her that some kids have conditions or take medications that have the opposite effect to her medications and cause these kids to lose their hair. So, Sahara asked me to help her share her hair with other kids that might want it.
So we’re chopping it off to have a wig made for someone that needs it and thought while we’re at it we’ll fundraise for Variety- the Children’s Charity.
Rah will be chopping off her long locks and opting for a short bob on her 6th birthday - Thursday 19th May 2022.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
