I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

Hi my name is Ruby and I'm 9 years old. I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition. I have been growing my hair for 3 1/2 years from when I was in grade 1 and made the decision I wanted to donate my hair to help kids with cancer or other medical conditions. My Nana passed away when I was 3 years old from cancer and I'm doing this to honour her memory. 

I'll be chopping off 35.5 cms of my hair on 5th December 2020.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Well I did it! I was so excited and couldn't stop smiling while I was having my hair chopped. I am so happy that I am making a difference to someone's life. It has taken 3 years from the time I decided to grow my hair to now. Not once did I change my mind. I am really proud of myself that not only did I cut my hair to donate but so far have raised $811 in my fundraiser to also help another child in need. Thank you to everyone that donated to this great cause. I'm loving my new hair style!
