I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
So I sure as hell haven't done this the conventional way, but what does that matter.
The world is a pretty dark place right now with everything that is going on. COVID-19 has taken away most every bit of normalcy and left a whole lot of uncertainty. And it's not even that bad in Australia.
But most of us have it easy (comparatively). There's likely a lot of people that are getting hit harder than you. People who have already compromised immune systems, or who have been battling diseases for years. Their original fight didn't stop for this, it just became harder.
But we can bring brightness. In small ways. By doing simple things like donating blood, donating hair, or even donating time, we can give something that makes their fight a little easier, a little more manageable. I chopped all of my hair off yesterday to donate to Variety. I chopped first, raised later because I was not only intimidated by the chop, but also scared as hell of being talked out of it. But now it's done, and it's gonna become a wig for someone who cant grow their own.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
