Moshi's Big Chop

I'm doing the big chop for charity this year!

2020 hasn’t been the best for us. That doesn’t mean we cannot be so in return. So for my birthday this Spring, as a way of giving back, I’ve decided to do the big chop (14 inches +) that I had long wanted to do (woot!) and also running a fundraiser just so anyone wishing to show their support and make a difference through a donation can do so :) All proceeds go to Variety – the Children's Charity.

Who is Variety – the Children’s Charity?

For 45 years they have been helping to give kids who are disadvantaged or have special needs a fair chance in life. The pandemic, however, has heavily impacted their ability to raise funds, as well as provide grants, run programs, and hold kids’ experiences. Precisely why donations are more crucial now than it ever has been. I'm thrilled to be part of this cause and I hope you are too :) 

How does #hairwithheart work?

My hair would be given a second life and made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a long-term medical condition – giving back the gift of confidence and self-esteem. Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.

Thankfully, all the proceeds from the sale of the hair and fundraising will allow Variety to help children in need of assistance; ranging from providing wigs, purchasing a new wheelchair for a child with a disability to buying school uniforms for kids who are doing it tough. Feel free to check out Variety’s website if you’d like to learn more about their initiatives.
