I'm doing the Hair with Heart challenge and I need your help to raise $6000!

About 8 weeks ago I found out I have a medical condition and I needed to have an operation on my brain and my spine. I found out that I would need to have my hair shaved. But before my surgery, I decided to donate my hair through Hair with Heart. 

When I woke up from surgery the first thing I asked was if my hair was able to be collected and donated, and hearing 'YES' made me so, so happy!

But donating my hair is only half the story. Making wigs is expensive. It costs approximately $6000 to make a wig for a child with long term hair loss. Not all families can afford this, and so I am fundraising to help support kids with hair loss to have a wig made.  My first goal was $3000 and I am so grateful that I have raised much more than this. I would love to raise enough to cover the total cost of a wig for a sick child.

Thursday 11th Dec
I was so excited that the newspaper came to talk to me about my fundraising! I am so close to reaching my new goal - it would be so wonderful if I can fund a wig for a sick child with the help of everyone who has donated! Thank you! 

I made it to Graduation!

Friday 5th Dec
I made it home just in time to be part of my graduation ceremony for Year 6! This made me so happy! I am still fundraising, and hoping that I can raise enough money to cover the cost of a wig for a sick child. I am so close to this goal, and so grateful to everyone who has helped me get this far. Thank you! 

Hospital School

Even when you're in hospital you still have to go school! It was pretty good. I got to do food tech and art.

I am so grateful and I want to thank everyone so much for their donations! I've reached above my target of $3000! I have learned that a wig costs about $6000 to make, and I am so grateful to everyone for helping me to contribute to making a wig for another child who needs it.

A big thank you to everyone who has donated to help me reach my goal!  Before surgery it was so important to me that I be able to donate my hair, and because of this I chose to have the surgeons remove more than I needed removed, so that I could be sure there was enough to donate. Now I can be sure that my hair donation, and the money we've raised will be going to help other kids.  Thank you so much for helping me!
