I'm saying goodbye to my hair to help childhood cancer and I need your help!
I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I'll be chopping off approximately 40 cm after my Grade 12 formal at the end of June. The big chop will approximately be either the 27th or 28th of June.
It is estimated that, on average, about 750 children aged 0-14 years old are diagnosed with cancer each year in Australia. ... Almost half (48%) of all children diagnosed with cancer in Australia were aged 0-4 years old at diagnosis, with a median age of 5 years.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
