Hair with Heart

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 37cm in July 2020.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Variety the Children’s Charity doesn’t just fund wigs. They provide over 18 different grants and programs to disadvantaged children, their families and their communities, because Variety believe “All kids deserves a fair go in life.”

Variety helps those like Hannah and Siri who suffer from Alopecia Areata; children like Mia who has Autism and children like Danielle who lives in poverty and didn’t have the necessary technology to do remote learning.

Every donation  helps and nothing and nobody is too small to make a difference 

My Story...

Monday 25th May
Cutting my hair and donating it to charity has been a dream of mine for a long time now. It all started back when I was 3 and I told my mum that I wished I could have hair like Raphunzel’s in the movie ‘Tangled’.  Mum explained to me that I would probably never have hair as long as Raphunzel’s or gain magic powers but I could use my hair to heal others by cutting it and giving it to those who had trouble growing hair of their own.  My hair is very special to me and it has become a big part of my identity. I am nervous about having it cut because I don’t know what it will feel like to have short hair, but I also have a big heart and know this will make a difference to lots of other children.  It would help me a lot if friends and family would show their support by making a small donation.  Remember every small bit makes a big difference!
