I'm growing my hair out to do a big chop for kids that need my hair

Hi my name's Lachlan and I am 12 years old

I have made the decision to make a difference by growing my hair out cutting it and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off once it hits 40cms or longer, I'm currently at 11cms, I'm hoping by Christmas it will be long enough to do.

I will be updating my hair length of the start of every month until it's at length.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need.

So it's the school holidays and lachlan is still growing his hair out, he now can put it up in a full pony with it falling out, 

We haven't measured it yet but lachlans pretty sure it's almost 30cms 

He wants to try and grow it out to 65cms so he can keep the length and maybe donate more hair later down the track

So my hair got a trim, mum said it needed it to be healthy im sad as we took off 2 n abit cms but its making my hair all the same length. I have updated photos . We will measure my hair in the next few days.

My hair is getting really long, its almost 20cms long

So this morning Tuesday the 17th march 2020 we measured Lachlans hair and it's grown to 13.8cms
