KUMI'S PAYING IT FORWARD Vol 2

Hi there,

The time has come, after 3 years I have decided that I will again chop off my hair and donate it to Variety - the Children’s Charity! My hair will be used to make wigs for those who have lost their hair due to a medical condition.

When I last donated my hair, I had been recovering from a life altering accident, causing significant facial injuries and requiring multiple surgeries.  I was fortunate to survive the accident and still lead a fulfilling life.  I felt very lucky and wanted to do something to help those less fortunate and donating my hair was a great opportunity.  Now, three years later I have since married and have been fortunate to have a beautiful and healthy baby boy.  Again, I feel the desire to pay it forward and help children who haven’t been as fortunate and am excited to donate my hair to Variety – the Children’s Charity, once again.

Variety helps thousands of kids who are sick, disadvantaged, or have special needs to live, laugh and learn through various grants and programs including granting wigs to kids that have lost their hair due to a medical condition, for example, alopecia. Wigs give these kids more confidence and better self-esteem so they can feel like themselves again. But wigs can cost thousands and last only 1-2 years.

I’m aiming to raise $500. Please don’t be shy, every little bit counts!

The big chop will be on Thursday October 28th!!
