I’ve been growing and donating my hair again, and again, and again for almost two decades. It’s a strategic act of quiet kindness that I continue to do in memory of my grandmother who lived with alopecia.
This time, my hair donation will be extra special because, for the first time, I get to do it as Lellie Lopter, and as a finalist for the 2026 Australia’s Kindest Person Award!
Unfortunately though, it can take up to seven hair donations to make just one wig, and the process of creating medical-grade wigs can be very expensive.
That’s why this time, in addition to donating my hair, I’m also collecting donations on behalf of Hair with Heart.
