I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I’ve made the decision to take the big chop and change lives!

Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

I will be donating my hair to help provide a wig to someone who has lost their hair, as well as raising vital funds for kids in need.

Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference.

Monday 21st Aug
Well, it’s been done! I am incredibly proud! Not a nerve to be had (by Athena, that is!) and it’s short!! Thank you to all who donated and to Jess at Willow Hair Co for donating her time and amazing skills! 
I will be donating your fee to the funds soon! Thank you all! 

Today is the BIG day!

Monday 21st Aug
Athena is very excited! We measured her hair last night and from crown to tip it’s 74 cms!!! It’s so long! She is still very focused on her chosen style so watch this space….. 
I won’t lie, I am more nervous than she is! 

9 days to go!

Saturday 12th Aug
Athena is getting super excited about her big chop but also about how many donations she has raised so far! 

She has even decided to go and donate more of her hair! She originally planned anted to do the required length but has now decided to go even shorter. She wants to keep how short a secret so watch this space! 

We can’t thank you all enough for the support so far! Keep it coming- we are still a little way off our goal. 

The countdown is into single digits now so we are super excited!

An update on Athena is that she is SO KEEN for the chop and is counting the donations with me ❤️ I am so proud of this kid

Friday 21st Jul
So I didn’t realise setting up the page that my name would be used- rookie error! It’s actually Athena getting the big chop! 
She is very excited about helping out kids who need wigs! 
Athena and I had a big chat around why some children would have the need for a wig and her response was as this: “well, that makes it even more important I donate my hair- I want to make someone feel good about themselves…..plus I’ve got hair to share!” I could not be prouder of this girl. 
Athena has always been very adamant about not cutting her hair. She has had one trim in the last 5 years and she (we all know this means me!) takes very good care of her beautiful locks! 

We would love it if our friends and family could help us raise some money along with this donation. Each wig is around $60 to be made and we would love to hit a goal of $1000. Anything will help and we are so thankful!
