I'm donating my hair to a kid in need and would love your help!
My name is Katie, I am 8 years old and I want to give my hair to another child who needs it.
Mum and I researched different charities and I have chosen to donate my hair to Variety — The Children’s Charity because they help kids living with a range of illnesses and disabilities.
I will be cutting off more than 35cm of hair in support of Hair with Heart (Variety’s national fundraising and hair donation program), and raising vital funds for Australian kids in need.
My hair donation will help to provide a wig to someone experiencing permanent hair loss from medical conditions like cancer or alopecia, and will hopefully increase their confidence and self-esteem in their everyday life.
This is the part where I need your help to achieve my goal…
Did you know that specialised custom-made wigs for kids can cost families up to $6,000 and that they need to be replaced every 18-24 months? That means families can spend tens of thousands of dollars over the years as their child grows. An expense that many families struggle to afford.
By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig and other vital services to someone in need.
