I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
So it’s finally happening. I’ve been talking about it for a while now. I’m getting the big chop. After a few delays - my hairdresser moving twice and then lockdown - it’s time to cut my hair off. I have been growing it for a while now - almost 6 years. There have been some haircuts but mostly just trims. I do like to cut my hair off dramatically every 5 years like clockwork. And now my hair is the longest it has been since I was a little girl of about 7 when I got my first big chop. But it’s been growing, albeit slow, and it’s almost at my waist - it’s starting to drive me nuts, but all for a great cause.
On Thursday 4 November I am booked in with Paul to cut and donate my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
Here’s where you lovely people come in - it takes more than just hair to make a wig. Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Friday 5th Nov All cut and done! It was a fun journey last night, we got lots of plaits chopped off and I photographed the process. Loving my short haircut. And I can send off the plaits to be made into a beautiful wig for someone who needs it. ShareThanks for all the support
