I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
Losing your hair can have profound psychological effects, especially for children and teens. One wig can cost up to $6,000 which is unachievable for many families.
After shaving my head when I was 12, it has taken me 4 years to grow my hair out. I am now 16, and my hair is long enough to donate again! By donating my hair, I aim to raise money in order to provide wigs, resources, and scholarships for sick or disabled children including those with hair loss due to medical conditions such as alopecia, cancer and trichotillomania.
My goal last time was $3000 however I didn’t quite make it! This time, I hope to raise another $3700 so that in total I can raise $6000 for a full wig to be made.

Hi! My name is Jeslyn and I am 12 years old. I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
I’ve chopped off 111cm on the 29th of August 2020.
I love my hair but I wanted to share this special experience with those who may not be able to have hair due to medical conditions.
This had always been something I wanted to do, and I had been growing out my hair for more than 8 years. At first, I was going to cut my hair up to my shoulders, then I decided I wanted to shave my head. Before the big chop my hair was down to my knees, and now it is all shaved, super short, and I love my new hair!
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
