Jenaya's Hair with Heart challenge

I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 40cm of my hair.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

My Hair

Hello, I want your help. That’s right you!

I have always related to Jo March for too many reasons. And if you know me, you can see it. But one scene in particular sticks with me. Cue scene. Enter Jo March, giving her mother the money for her train fare to go and care for their injured father. How did she get the money? “I sold my hair,” says Jo to the shock of her family. Her sister Amy exclaims, “your one beauty!”

Her one beauty…

Now, my sister has never said that to me, but I do feel like we put such sway on hair. Is it true, though? Because it can be a life-changer. I have gone through stages of my life where I could find little I liked about myself; I had scars on my knees, my stomach stuck out too much, and my hair was too frizzy. But at least I had it.

So many people in Australia and around the world suffer from hair loss due to external conditions. Whether it is chemotherapy, alopecia or mental illness related, losing one’s hair can be debilitating for people's self-esteem, particularly children. I want to help that. So I am donating my hair, not a shave but a big chop. This is where you come in; I want, no, need, your help to fundraise for these children who don’t have the luxury of a safety net in their hair like I did. Please help me to raise $500 for children with hair loss. I am going to donate my hair, and I hope you can help by donating too! So let’s put our heads together (no pun intended 😜) and do it!

Thanks for all the support
