Help me give a kid a wig: Chop chop!
To all my supporters, it has been a while since you helped me out with the 40 Hour Famine in year 12. I have given you plenty of time to save up those 5 cent pieces to support another worthy cause.
Have you ever seen me with short hair? While you access your still functioning memory banks to answer that question I want to tell you why I'm once again "knocking on your door".
I had seen children affected by illnesses that resulted in hairloss but it wasn't until I saw first hand the difference that hair replacement made to someone I love that I've been on a mission to grow mine and gift it to help a young person regain their confidence. And why should money put that out of their reach? So, before I go grey and miss out on my chance to help, I am cutting and donating my hair to go toward making a wig. But I need your help to complete my wish of covering the cost to actually make the wig my hair will help to make.
I'll be chopping off 40cm on the 16th of April or there abouts.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
