I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
As a teen I always grew my hair long, but as an adult I’ve loved cutting it shorter and shorter over the years. But thinking back to how long it used to be, I regret that I didn’t cut it all off in one go so it could go to someone who needed it.
This thought was 2 years and 9 months ago. After growing out my hair to how long it used to be, with trims in between to keep it healthy (and countless moments of getting frustrated with long hair and wanting to chop it all off), it’s finally time to do the big chop in three weeks! And my 25th birthday will be then, and what better time to mark a quarter life crisis than to chop 35.5cm of my hair off for a good cause 😚
The locks will be going to Hair with Heart, which is Variety – the Children’s Charity’s national hair donation & fundraising program. Hair contributions are processed into specialist wigs for children who have lost their hair due to a medical condition.
Hair with Heart is one of the many ways Variety helps Australian kids in need. They support children and families who are facing challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with a disability. Money raised via their initiatives, such as Hair with Heart, go to Variety’s grants and programs that provide funding to families for mobility equipment, communication devices, medical items, therapeutic treatments, programs and experiences.
As well as my hair, it would also be so amazing to donate some funds to them too. This is where I’m asking for your help my friends. Anything you can contribute would be so, so appreciated, and will make a huge difference for so many kids ❤️ And in three weeks you’ll definitely be seeing some before and after pics, where in hair length I’ll once again be able to channel my one true queen Edna Mode.
We're so proud of you!
