I'm doing the Hair with Heart challenge and I need your help!

I’ve made the decision to take on the Hair with Heart challenge and change lives!

Variety – The Children’s Charity supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

I will be fundraising to help raise vital funds for Australian kids in need, including kids who are experiencing permanent hair loss from medical conditions such as alopecia and cancer.

💇‍♀️🦲 The evolution of my hair 🦲💇‍♀️

So this will be the third time I'm raising funds for cancer research, and the second time that I'm donating my hair.
The first time I shaved my hair off, I was in year 11 (2013), and it was a massive deal at our school. I was very keen to donate my hair, because if you know me, you know my hair is VERY thick, but I didn't know you could only donate hair that had been undamaged by dye or bleach. So I then made it a goal of mine to grow out my hair as long as I could so I could donate it.
In 2017, I cut off 14 inches of my hair to donate to Hair With Heart, who not only helps children with cancer, but they make wigs for and support families of children who are going through other illnesses that cause hair loss such as alopcia.
Which brings us to 2025. I have changed a lot in those eight years, and my hair is no longer tied to my self-worth or self-confidence. If you are around me for any period of time (especially lately), you've probably heard me say how ready I am to shave my head and save money on shampoo and conditioner. But I know that that view is from a huge place of privilege. Donating my hair is something small that I can do to help children gain confidence in themselves and provide them with some kind of normality with their illness. Hair isn't just a vanity feature. It is part of personal expression, gender identity, cultural identity and expression, and self-confidence.
I will be shaving my head and donating my hair on October 3rd, so please donate if you can! 💇‍♀️🦲🌟
