I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off 35.5cm on 22 March 2022.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

Emmalise's Big Chop

Friday 25th Mar
I went to my hairdresser and told her that I wanted to donate my hair for someone to make a wig for cancer patients. I thought about donating my hair before Christmas but we never got around to doing it. The reason I cut this much was because there was a certain length you have to cut (14 inches/35.5cm). I am donating my hair to a charity called Variety, the Children's Charity - Hair with Heart. They make wigs for children with cancer. Normally my hair gets thrown in the bin but I thought that if I am going to cut it why not cut it for a good cause? First we washed and dried it then we put it into 4 sections with a hair tie just underneath where we were cutting and plaited it then put a hair tie at the bottom. Now we have the hair we are going to send it to Variety hoping to make a difference in someone’s life.
