I'm chopping my hair and need your help!
When I was 9 years old a class mate shared with me her story of living with Alopecia and how people could help others like her by donating their hair for wigs. As a child with Autism, I could empathise with how difficult it can be feeling different from others.
I went straight home from school and asked my parents if I could grow my hair to donate. It hasn't always been an easy journey, I have been teased for my long hair, and constantly been mistaken for a girl, however it has been worth it knowing it will make a difference to someone in need.
I'll be chopping off 35.5cm
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.
