I'm doing the Hair with Heart challenge and I need your help!
I have only had my hair cut once in my life. The next time I have a haircut I want my hair to not go to waste. I am growing my hair long enough so that my hair can help a child who has lost hair due to a medical condition. I am donating my hair to Hair with Heart.
Hair with Heart is the national fundraising and hair donation program run by Variety - The Children’s Charity. They grant wigs to children who have permanently lost their hair due to a medical condition such as alopecia areata and cancer. Each specialised wig needs real human hair, costs $6000 to make and lasts for 1.5 - 3 years. The program allows a child to be fitted for a specialised custom-made wig that helps regain their confidence and self-esteem.
Variety – The Children’s Charity also supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.
