Bridget's Big Chop

I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off (insert how many cms/in you'll be donating - min 35.5cm) on (insert the date of your big chop, or an approximate date or month if you're not sure).

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

My Reason for Donating my Locks

Friday 3rd Sep
On 14 Novermeber 2014 shortly after just turning five years old was rushed to the Mater Children's Hopital after a week long high temperature.

A blood test later revealed my son had leukaemia.

Over the following three months of intensive chemotherapy my son had lost his hair along with other things.

Thankfully, my son had made full remission in May 2017.

However, many other children have not had the same successful reaction to their treatment and have had to repeatedly experience hair loss.

Watching my son lose his hair was a heart breaking and watching my son lose his confidence at such a young age was another heart wrenching moment.

I choose to donate my hair so children you have experienced hair loss can gain some confidence back.

Thanks for all the support
