A wig, 3 years in the making!

In 2015, my family had four brushes with cancer - my Mum (breast), Aunty #1 (pancreas), Aunty #2 (bowel) and Grandma (colon) were all diagnosed within an 18 month period.
We learnt and saw how impactful medical conditions can be on survivors and their support network, not just during treatment but well into their recovery journey.
From this, my sister proceeded to grow, chop and donate her hair - not once - but twice!
Inspired by her efforts, I decided to strive to do the same and I have been growing my hair since 2018.
My hair donation will be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000 and only last about 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need.
