I’m growing my hair so I can chop it for variety!

I’ve made the decision to take the big chop and change lives!

I’ve had my long hair for almost 20 years and in 2023 has become so much more affected by the reality of hair loss from medical conditions. So I am working to grow my hair enough to have a big chop for my birthday in 2024 to donate to variety.  

Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

I will be donating my hair to help provide a wig to someone who has lost their hair, as well as raising vital funds for kids in need.

Every gift, no matter the amount, makes a difference.

Haircut date booked!

Friday 2nd Feb
Measured my hair last weekend and it is long enough to cut. Have now booked in at a hairdresser to get it cut on 14th Feb!

Still have about halfway to my target funds raised (I will cut even if that target isnt reached, but it would be great to reach it).

Thank you to all that has sponsored me so far, I am already more than half my goal. 

I am also getting nervous - may need to start researching short hairstyle that fits me. 

You know, that sounds so vain, considering the people Variety helps often doesnt have that option - as they often don’t have hair because of an illness. 

Your donation supports Variety’s work to give some of these kids options for hairstyle - as they make  wigs from hair donations. So thank you again!
