Ava's getting the chop!
My name is Ava and I am 6 years old. I've been asking to have my hair cut for a while now and Mum's finally giving in - and I've decided that I'd like to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair.
My hair is so long! Its down to my waist and has only ever been trimmed since I was a baby. I'm so proud to be able to raise money and donate my pony tail.
I'll be getting the big chop in two weeks time and hope to be able to show off my new haircut at my 6th birthday party.
Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
