Alice's Big Chop

I'm chopping my hair and I would love your help!

After thinking of doing this for years, I am FINALLY doing it! At the end of September I will be having a big hair cut and donating the hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition. 

There has probably only been one other time (in my early teens) when I have had short hair, and I definitely find comfort, familiarity and some of my identity, in having long hair. 

So although it feels like a big thing for me to do, when I think about those who have lost their hair through no choice of their own, I know this is just a small way I can help out! 

I will be chopping off about 36cms of my hair at the end of the month (date tbd), and would love your support so I can not only give my hair to someone in need, but also provide extra funds for equipment and the making of wigs etc.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth.
