I'm chopping my hair and need your help!

I have made the decision to make a difference by cutting and donating my hair to be made into a wig for someone who has lost their hair due to a medical condition.

I'll be chopping off my 35cm ponytail on Saturday 16 April.

Wigs cost families up to $6,000, lasting 1-2 years, meaning families can spend tens of thousands of dollars on the purchase of wigs throughout a child’s youth. By making a donation to Variety - the Children's Charity, you can help provide a wig or other vital equipment to a child in need. Thank you for helping kids in need.

We did it!

Tuesday 19th Apr
Saturday morning I spent a wonderful 3hours with my hairdresser Hayley who carefully tie a lot of little ponytails in my hair to maximise my hair dontion, while leaving some hair to style into a new do.  We had fun taking photos and videos along the way.  It's been about 8 or 9 years since I last coloured my hair, but thought for this occasion it would be fun to add so highlights and low lights.
I'm very excited to be posting off a big bag of hair to help in making up a wig for someone special.  I'm also so proud and thankful for all the support, encouragement for my hair donation and the monetary donations to my fundraising efforts.  You are amazing!  Thank you!

Less than a week to the big chop.

Monday 11th Apr
Received a text from my hair dresser today to remind me of my appointment. I thought my appointment was on the 23rd, but turns out it's this Saturday, the 16th! 😱 I thought I had 2weeks to enjoy my long flowing hair, but I know have less than a week.
I've been told my brave and asked if I'm scared.  But I look at this way: my hair will grow back and I can have it styled to suit me.  There are many children that aren't as fortunate.  I hope my ponytail together with others ponytails will bring some hope and dignity to someone.
